I have this camera and I mastered every aspect including the famously disliked menu system and I do like the camera for the obvious reasons such as image quality, size, lens selection, etc. However, when I use my SLR, the SLR's usability blows it the OM-D away. The OM-D is a software upgrade away from being a great camera with only three easy to do cability wing

1. Be able to change the focus points to a smaller size. It miss focuses far to often on subjects that are mid to far distances away. And no that little trick of having the touch screen magnification zoomed to 14x is not the same. Make any menu change and it goes back to default, making one repeat the steps again. Plus doing this also creates around a 100 new focus points which make it a hassle to change in a hurry.

2. Focus peaking: the limelight trick is not the same. One has to jump loops to get it to work (setting custom myset and losing a function button) or deleting the jpegs. Besides I'm not impressed with its ability to actually nail focus. The Sony NEX-5n is a dream to use with legacy lenses.

3. Renaming MySet for obvious reasons.

Three little changes would make this the ultimate camera. Until this happens I will not buy more into the system (backup bodies, flashes, etc.) and I will exclusively use my SLRs for professional work. Talking with other pros with OM-D expierance and they have the same sentiment. Why a financially strapped company does not hurry up and fix these glarring flaws is beyond me. There is still room for improvement on the next release such as 1/8000 shutter speeds, 100 native ISO, AF-C, etc, where it would not eat up sales.

I do not start many threads and I don't care for reading the same old whining threads, but I wish 4/3rumors website actually had an inside track on the market. But they don't, they are basically a wishing site with news releases. Because they claimed back in December that Olympus was going to release a big firmware update and that never happened. Sorry for putting such a pointless thread that will never actually make a difference.

you have "mastered every aspect "of the OM-d including its "famously disliked" menue structure. You must have owned an OM-d for a long, long time to do that. You were porbably one of the early adopters. I have owned an E-pl1 for a few years and I still haven't "mastered" everthing in the menu and the OM-d is far more complex.

I bought the camera in October and learned my way around the menu in a few days.  Just as I have with Nikon and Canon cameras.

Maybe I am just slow.

Anyway, it is interesting that you have lots of Nikon gear listed in your Gear Tab but no OM-d or u 4/3 lenses listed. There are also no OM-d photo's in your Gallery and all of your posts except one and this thead have been in the Nikon fourm. No micro four thirds postings.

Hmmmmm.......

I do not visit the forums unless I am having an issue and I am looking to see if others are experiencing the same.  I have not updated my equipment list because I did that when I signed up and I do not see the point of keeping that updated.  I do not upload photos here because I already upload photos on my website, blog, Facebook, 500px, twitter, linked, and weddingwire.  It is already too time-consuming keeping every site updated, the last thing I need is to add another.  Besides, this website is 90% gearheads and I do not see the point in looking for validation from people who are not hiring me.

perhaps you could post a sample photo from your OM-d that you have had for a long time so as to master the hated menu (with full unedited EXIF data) so that we can inspect the photo for "handling problems" you describe.

Without a sample photo it is very difficult for us to help you.

Sample photo of what? OOF images? I toss those immediately; I have no need to keep photos that have a zero chance of ever being printed.
