I use Lightroom 4.3 (64bit) and find the 5D images unusable on the H (3200) setting.. I agree.. primes are the way to go.. looking at the 50mm 1.4. The 50mm 1.2 seems too shallow if there could be such as thing and as far as I know, there is no micro focus adjustment on th 5d classic.

I will not call 5Dc ISO 3200 unusable. As a matter of fact, its high ISOs are still better than 60D/7D according to TDP, IR and DXOMark tests. I still can use my 60D ISO 6400 no mention 5Dc's ISO 3200.

Call it whatever you like.. I'm just telling you from my experience that 1600 is the maximum ISO I would go with that camera... You might like the look of film and dismiss the noise.. personally I don't.. Do you own a 5D classic by chance or are you simply using data from some chart?

he and I own lots of cameras

you'd trow this iso3200 5d shot out?

No.. looks fantastic.. as does the Vegas shot above.. Just a thought but would a f4 lens (24-105) @3200 not offer you the same ability to shoot in low light as a f1.4 @ 3200..

f1.4 is one stop from f2 which is one stop from f2.8 which is one stop from f4

for static subjects, with Image Stabilization, like the 3 stop IS on the 24-105 - you can shoot at a lower shutter speed -- ss1/160, down to ss1/80 (1stop), down to ss1/40 (2 stops) down to ss1/20 (3 stops) and get a sharp shot on a static subject at 105 mm even though the inverse handheld rule is ss = min 1/(Focal Length)

The same is true with reducing the iso with Image Stabilization for iso3200 to iso 1600 to iso 800 because you have Image Stabililization

but...all bets are off -- when you have MOTION.

then is when you need siggy 35 f1.4 art - to stop motion

I carry both crop cameras (T4i and 60d) and 5dc.  I don't think F4 zoom on FF makes FF sing.  I can get that from my 60d and 15-85 4 stop IS.

I do think the primes sing on FF.  Therefore, I recommend getting both.  60d + 15-85IS plus 5dc + 100L + 35 f1.4 siggy
