It's a newbie camera, and for that reason, I don't like it. I know that sounds strange, maybe snobby. But if you seriously want to learn the art of image making, this is not the camera, for you. It has all the modes and is high resolution. As Steve said, it is missing features that are important in today's photography. If you get serious about the art, you will quickly outgrow the D3200. So instead of spending $600, you'll end up spending double that number in very short time. The D5200, or D7000 are better choices in that they have features the 3200 does not have.
