We've come a long way from the OP's first post, but I'll respond......

I'm sorry you weren't happy with your G1X.   I own a DSLR, G12 and a G1X.  Of my two G's, I'd give the award for better IQ quite readily to the G1X, and more so at higher ISOs - just check out how little noise there is in any of the many examples posted SOOC in this forum.  I don't know exactly why you were disappointed with your images.  I'm very happy with mine, and I don't think that that is because I'm not demanding of the camera. You've commented that you didn't find the lens convincing, whereas I've had the opposite experience - I find it sharp and more remarkable for its evenness in performance across both the FL range and the aperture range at each FL.

Most owners would agree with you that the speed of operation is somewhat slow, especially compared to a DSLR.   I'm not sure that the speed is slower than other G's, but the between shot time is noticeably slower.  Whatever its speed, the AF is very accurate - it has to be because of the longer FLs involved.   I can't compare for the G10 - I've never owned one.  The G15 AF is reported to be significantly faster than the G12, so together with the faster lens, hopefully you'll be pleased with that model.
