I use and recommend several canvas' from Breathing Color: http://www.breathingcolor.com/page/fine-art-inkjet-canvas
Crystalline: Surface is glossy and sealed. Photo Blk ink is used normally--but dont hesitate to be creative with the Matte Blk. Bright sparking prints, especially in B&W. Color may require sunglasses for viewing!
Lyve and Chromata White: Textured, good detail, use Matte Blk ink.....
Buy some of the 17"x20' sample rolls ($12-20+) cut to size and enjoy. I'm printing on the 3880 and 17x25 in prints are awesome.
I dont have a magic formula that decides for me what media to choose for a given print. I will create several test images first and then ruminate--unless I it's a eureka moment.
I'm quite certain your needs will be met with BC, do try the other BC canvas' available--"a box of chocolates".
