...that the Affordable Care Act is a uniquely American beast. The way social health care works in other nations is not even remotely like this, at least in the few nations I know of. Here in Australia, for example, its handled at a public level as just a straight additional income tax levy, the poor pay what they always pay, nothing, your average joe pays around 1% and the increasingly rich up to 2% or so.
But the way the American people think of tax and the role of government... I don't think US citizens would ever accept it.
