canon rebate cycle

Hopefully this will get posted correctly.

I am curious about the rebate cycle that canon offers.

I have the option of buying tomorrow, 2/1/13 the 5diii and a few lenses and taking advantage of the rebates that canon has to offer.  But my local store also has the occassional "No sales Tax" days and if I'm going to buy $8000 worth of gear that $500-$600 in taxes looks awfully like a new lens to me.

My question then is should I wait for the "no sales tax" deals which typically occurr around major holidays and risk the chance of losing the canon rebates or just suck it up and pay the sales tax and think that I'm support the schools and whatever other local tax measure my county makes me pay for.

I guess the other option is to buy online but I'd rather support the local store as they have been very helpful in my research process.
