What 35mm f1.4 to f1.8 lenses would you recommend?

The Konica AR 40mm F1.8 is dirt cheap.

It is rather compact, but to make use of the lens wide open you really need to have a lens hood, so it's not that compact after all.

It also has quite a bit of purple fringing at F1.8 (which disappears at f2.8), but I understand so does the Sony SEL35F18 ... maybe not so much.
