So, what does "power zoom" mean?
Jan 31, 2013

I ask this because I thought I knew, at least when we're talking about Panasonic lenses. I thought the  power zoom meant that instead of using the typical rotation motion on the lens you activate a button (on the lens or a dedicated button on the camera body) to do the zooming. So, the reason I'm asking is because DPReview lists the new 14-42 as having power zoom (http://www.dpreview.com/news/2013/01/29/Panasonic-announces-Lumix-G-Vario-14-42mm-f3-5-5-6-II-ASPH-MEGA-OIS#specs). Is this a hybrid lens with both the rotation action and the use of the button on a camera? Or merely a mistake?
