Warning on Sony Vaio

I have, regretfully, a Sony VAIO with quad core i7, 8Gb ram and a 128 Gb SSD and Win7-64.
When connected to mains it is ok, but on battery it slows down to less than mediocre. Developing D800 RAWs are not something you do with the Sony when on battery....
Yes, there´s the battery power saving tech, but that is possible to circumvent on other makes but not on the Sony. I also have a HP with an i7 processor and it runs at full speed even on battery, if so configured (unfortunately it is not available for mobile use after the screen died. With the screen chopped off it is now a desktop...)
I´ve searched the net for a solution regarding the Sony, but without success.
Don´t buy Sony!
