Where's the 70-200 2.8 DX equivalent for example?

There likely will never be one simply because longer lenses natively cover a FF format. A 70-200 F2.8 is gonna weigh the same and have the same size glass elements even if the target format is smaller. Go look at the olympus 4/3 longer tele lenses, they are the same size as FF ones. The wide angle lenses is where sensor area is a concern, which is why all the DX lenses are WA ones..
As far as the compactness, a 70-200 on DX = the FOV of a 140-400 on FF. Compare a 70-200 to a 140-400 lens. Even if the longer lens is f4, here you find the compactness factor.
As I said it doesn't matter which target format you are wanting, a 70-200 F2.8 lens can only be made so small/light and still be an f2.8 lens.

Well Stacy, the Panasonic m43 equivalent would be be the 35-100 2.8 (2x crop factor) and it weighs in at 360g; compared to the Nikon 70-200 2.8 at 1,540g. So yes, not only is it possible but its also readily available.
