In the menu somewhere there is a setting for "Using Aperture Ring". Make that setting equal to 2 and then leave it there from now on. It has no afect on any other lenses.
If you lens as an A position then set that lens to the A position.
Cheers.

Thank you Ron.
I set the lens to 'A' and that allowed pictures to be taken.
With your answer, was it do either or should I also set the Aperture Ring to 2?
The Aperture Ring = 2 setting has no affect on any lenses except for lenses without an A setting and M42 screwmount lenses.
You set the Aperture Ring to 2 for use with lenses that do not have an A setting. I set all of my Pentax DSLR's to Aperture Ring Setting equal 2 and never look at it again.
Cheers.
