Lens advice - vacation in NYC
Jan 31, 2013

I'm going to New York City next month and I'm looking for advice as which lens(es) to take. My current setup is a nikon d90, 18-105, 35 and 85.

My first idea is to take the 18-105 as walkaround and the 35 for indoors/low ligth.

On the medium term I was going to replace the 18-105 with the new sigma 18-250 macro for added flexibility and travelling purposes (keeping the primes for more specific situations). So now I am wondering if it would be a good idea to buy the 18-250 now and use it in NYC.

Am I going to "need" the long telephoto? or maybe NYC would be more "wide angle"?

In case wider angle is the way to go, I could also consider buying a second hand sigma 17-50 and selling it after the vacation (as for everyday I prefer something longer).

Any insights welcomed, thank you!!

Nikon D90
