On another site I came across this as part of an answer to the above question :-

`The level of interest (in their gear) is the same as a delivery driver in his van, it is a tool and must function reliably and up to the required standard. Quite often that standard would not need to match up to what an advanced amateur would require`

Also,

Amateurs worry about equipment

Professionals about Time

Masters about Light.

Thoughts anyone ?

I don't worry about my equipment. I'm happy to shoot anything with my K-r, some of my Limiteds, some of my primes, the kit lens or even my Q! I even use a friend's D800 or D3s if given a chance.

I don't worry about the time, since I'm not a pro and I do not earn a living mostly with photography, but if there is a client or a schedule during my free time, I'll be there.

I worry about the light and the composition but skill wise, I am in no way a master

It's not about the tool, its how you use it
