File size of a99. Raw Vs Jpeg

Hi all,

I am editing some pics taken with the a99 using Adobe Camera Raw and just noticed something strange to me.

My RAW file is around 24Mb but my processed jpeg is consistently around 26-29 mb. My Jpeg file is larger than my raw!!! The only adjustmensts I made in Camera Raw are exposure and some noise reduction. The majority of the shots were done at ISO 5000.

Anyone else noticed this? How come a jpeg is larger than a Raw file?
