Which Nikon lens would you take to the beach ?

We love the beaches of Florida and capturing the diving terns, pelicans, and Ospreys.  I think the 300 2.8 would be a good choice.  However, there are times when the zoom of a 70-200 2.8 would be convenient.  Then there are times when the extra reach of a 500 f/4 would be nice for Ospreys.

On a Dx body, if you could take just one lens, which would it be and why ?   Thanks.
