I have a TT International as well; I had a issue flying into Mexico last year in that it was over weight by almost 12lbs. That was flying on a charter with Transat. Not much I could do but they did let me through once the saw what I was carrying and I talked nice to them.
Here in Canada, carry on restrictions are for size and weight. Weight being 22lbs on WestJet. You should be able to find your airlines weight restrictions on their site.
