Fz150 vs tz25

Fwiw, I don't recall anyone saying image quality itself was the same as the FZ150, but rather there was a lot speculation that the TZ25/ZS15 used the same sensor.  Which is a good thing, but there are other hardware/firmware considerations in producing final image quality so I wouldn't count on them being the same.  Frankly, for the increase in price and size, I would hope for at  least slight improvement in overall IQ.  Image quality of the ZS15 is good, but not quite as earth-shaking as I was hoping based on the technical reviews I'd read.

As to which to get, I agree with the others who say they're very different so it really depends what you need/want it for.  I bought the ZS15 as a sort of advanced point & shoot with decent zoom - to carry around in general, shoot my nephew playing high school sports, take family snaphots, etc.  Since I like a little control over my pictures, I normally use program mode, but the automated modes are good and useful for quick shoots or having other people use your camera for you.  The much bigger FZ150 wouldn't really serve that p&s purpose.  Also, the TZ25/ZS15 is also only about half the price of the FZ150, at least in the US.
