To exactly the res of the D5100 on the longer side. I didn't apply any extra sharpening on the result.

Thanks, Renato. I appreciate you doing all of this. I'm not sure that I agree that the 5200 is a stop better than the 5100. Time spent in post is precious to me. That's a big reason why I prefer to use the d3s over the d700. The d3s files don't require as much processing, which can be a very big deal when dealing with lots of images.

I'm going to have to compare the time and effort spent doing NR and downsizing on both images. IMO, it's not fair, valid comparison to do NR on the 5200 while not doing the NR on the 5100 image. Even if all you do is downsize the 5200 image, that takes time and effort. An equal amount of time and effort could be used with a good NR plugin on the 5100 image, which would show the true differences.

But, don't take this as a negative swipe on your efforts. The stuff you've done so far is very cool and much appreciated.
