Elephant walk in uptown Charlotte, plus several others from my first time out with the 25 mm.

I had to wait over the weekend for UPS to deliver the lens.  It was scheduled for Friday, but because of an ice storm, didn't arrive until late Monday.  So, the circus came to town and the elephant walk was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, so off I went.

While I always start out in color, this just didn't work in color.  I was late getting to uptown, but their train was 30 minutes late.  The PL 25 mm focuses lighting fast, and is tack sharp.  It took me 1 hour round trip, and their walk took about 2 minutes, but I am happy that I went.

I have been watching videos on you tube on street photography and am learning a great deal there.  Have your camera always ready, and spot your subject, aim and shoot in just a very few seconds.

As I walked down to where they were going to house the elephants, I saw these three women checking out the shots that they had just taken.  I saw them, I looked away, then turned, placed my camera to my eye and took the shot.  Fast and sure.

The woman was coming down the stairs with a friend, and the friend has just passed beyond the photo.  I was so watching the woman with the bike, I hadn't noticed the woman on the phone.  I think I have found the lens that will replace my 20 mm for the lens I use most often.  I have my G3 connected to a wrist strap, and find that I really like this much better than a neck strap.

Walking around town, I still wanted to keep trying out the lens.  I saw this car made to look like it was a pig.  Had to take this shot.

Then on the way back to my car, I caught the light rail and using the flip out screen on my G3 was able to make the capture.  Sharp and fast lens, fast focus and better for what I want to take than either my 14 mm or 20 mm.  Still each of those will keep their place in my camera bag, as sometimes I will still need them.
