I hear that a lot of high end cameras (DSLR etc) are able to capture video at very high quality so here's a newbie question. Why not just take a video and snapshot each frame into a photo? That way you never miss a shot and can always just do your composition afterwards?
High quality for a video image isn't the same as high quality for a DSLR image. 4k video cameras are a step up on previous generation video cameras but that doesn't mean they are better for stills than existing DSLRs
The Canon EOS C500 4K resolution is 4,096 x 2,160 pixels and the JVC GY-HMQ10 4K is 3840 x 2160.
The Canon 5DIII produced images at 5760 x 3840, so we already have 5k DSLRs. Why would we want to downgrade to a 4k image?
