The 28mm 1.8g was announced at $699, was introduced at $699, and still sells for $699.

The only real exceptions are the kit lenses, like the 28-85 VR, which was practically given away over the holidays. But I don't see drastic discounting of this lens any time soon, nor do I see a huge dip in price between now and its release in March, unless something drastic happens to the dollar/yen exchange.
