Tripod gurus wanted!!
Jan 29, 2013

I'm quite confused, can't find a suitable tripod for my needs, help me find a suiting one!

Here are the infos/criteria:

- Heaviest system it will ever hold: D800 with 14-24 f2.8, 300 f4, 70-200f4.

- I'm 184 cm tall, therefore a maximal height of ca. 170 cm is desired (fully extended).

- It has to fold relatively well, therefore I need 4 section legs.

- It mustn't weigh a ton, therefore carbon fiber is a must.

- The center column needs to be adjustable into a horizontal position in some way.

- Minimal groud height needs to be between 10-20 centimeters (for wild flowers).

- It's not an obligation, but I'm sick of the lever locks with all the foliage getting stuck in them, therefore a twist lock is preferred.

- I'm also sick of losing the rubber shoes of my Manfrotto in the field, therefore some screw-in leg-ends are preferred.

Without the last 2 requirements, the answer would be easy: Manfrotto 055 cxpro-4. But can't seem to find an equivalent sized and featured tripod around...

Thanks in advance for the tips!
