Is the 24-105l also for weddings, indoor events?

it is but you'll need flash - and when you get to shooting a reception it's going to be best to create your own ambient light with an off camera flash bounced into the ceiling - I did this quite successfully with a ranger quadra bounced up into a cement ceiling and a 270ex ontop of the camera for fill with a pocket wizard TTL trigger system (quadra on manual - actually set to about the same power as a 580ex, but i needed faster recycle times)
