thanks for the visit and the comments, i did bring the flash and remote, but never bring it out from hotel. actually i should bring the 5D mark 2 + flash, other then just the 1DX, may be that will have a balancing solution. my wife also get shock about i took the 1Dx, but i really can't help.
really thanks for the comments and sharing, all the best.

Take my advice...
If you want to live a long happy marriage, downsize your gear for your next romantic holiday. This time, your wife was merely "shocked" that you took the 1Dx. Next time, it'll be worse
Personally, when I travel with my wife on holiday, I might bring my 5D2, I might not (for commissioned shoots or photo-specific trips, this does not apply). If I bring the 5D2, I'll bring a single zoom and *maybe* a prime for low light. And i might also bring along a smaller camera, like a S95 or something, and leave the 5D2 in the hotel most days. Nothing is more annoying to spouses than to have to deal with their hubby who acts as if taking photos is more important than spending time together (thought I did notice her glued to her smart phone in many of those pics ).
Of course, the wifey also appreciates nice photos of her taken while on vacation, so it's kind of a double-edged sword, so to speak. If you have a 5D2, I would seriously consider taking that instead. Or get yourself a 6D for such holidays.
Also, to go back on topic, I agree with the others about the lack of catchlights in your wife's eyes. You can easily use a small flash set to low power to fix that. Or use a 6D with the built in flash.
