OMD Video Vs Photo IBIS Performance
Jan 29, 2013

Dear all,

I just received my OMD yesterday, thus new to this M/4 forum (I previously had a canon G1X).

Doing some test shots at home (inside not to much light) I discovered that IBIS (IS) is significantly better on video mode than on shooting mode (I am shooting single frames (not burst mode) on IS 1 auto with the kit lens).

When shooting video I can shake the camera and the vibration on the screen in minimal (very impressive as a matter of fact ). However if I try the same approach when taking a picture the vibration is much more visible. Sometimes I wonder if the IS is working correctly; do you have a similar experiences or perhaps I have a wrong setup?

Other observations:

When the camera is on, it has a humming sound like a small computer sound, as soon as I start a video this sound disappears and the camera becomes very silent.

Thank you in advance for your comments/remarks.
