Strong ND filters usually have some color cast, including $400 Lee or Singh Ray (they actually produce slightly different color casts indicating slightly different chemical makeup).   I've used B&W 10 stops and the Hitech 10 stop (the new one called IRND) and while both produce a mild color cast, it's nothing as extreme as yours. Your color cast may be due to a light leak either from your viewfinder or from between the filter and the lens, or both.  The newer HiTechs have a special padding that helps prevent the filter/lens light leak.
