"Zoom to 100%" might always be the most reliable option (which is available on many other platforms), but peaking, once you get the hang of using it, and are familiar with how it works on a particular lens, is much quicker, better for moving objects, excellent for video. It also means you don't lose your framing.

Shooting on a tripod with a still subject - sure - take your time and check your focus at 100% zoom; other real life situations might benefit from peaking
