That's my problem with 50mm on APS-C.  Too long or too short for almost everything.

But f/2.8 isn't too interesting to me and it lacks IS.

Take the f/1.8 & IS from Sony's 35 & 50mm lenses and put them in lenses with Sigma's 30 & 60mm FLs and you'd have a pair of killer lenses IMO. (Actually, I'd prefer 70mm to 60mm).
