It does take patience, but I've learned that the investment in time is worth it.

Though I could hand feed, I don't do it.... I don't want to "domesticate" any birds.. I just wish to be recognized, like they recognize the neighbors large dog... as "harmless".

Birds, in general, seem to be more perceptive than you might think..  They notice a lot.. I went from using the 40-150 on my DSLR to using the 70-300.. they noticed the difference, it took two afternoons before they settled down to accept it, and come near.
