Lens Cap + Silica = Genius!

There's not enough silica gel in those caps to dry out a damp camera or lens. Those little bags are for keeping something already dry, in a sealed box, from getting humid. To dry out a damp lens in any reasobale amount of time like 24 hours you'd need a bag approaching the size of the camera. That's the advice I got from the a supplier of silica gel products when I asked about this kind of thing years ago.
