15-85 f3.5-5.6 or 17-55 f2.8?

Personally I'd get a Tamron 17-50 2.8 Non VC and pair it up with a Canon 85 1.8 USM.

Even the 24-105L F4 would be a much better lens than the slow 15-85 USM.
