Or so the kids song goes ..

In the camera world it translates into "go click your shutter" (politely)

So we have no new Ricoh shutters to click but some regulars like Joel and myself amuse ourselves in other camera pursuits (and surely will not go away - grin).  Others sensibly have nothing to say because there is simply little left to talk about.

But there is a drift towards other pastures, a new Ricoh announcement cannot be too soon.

Not that Joel and I and others have any problem with Ricoh, but life goes on.  I haven't been really swayed towards other pastures, I can wait as long as it takes for a direct Ricoh gear update. I certainly don't need anything better than the Ricoh gear I already possess and despite the usual suggestions really and truly hardly need to improve anything.  Even though lists can be made.

Personally I have diverted to the Pentax Q, not for any really riveting need for a better camera, but more because the concept of a tiny replaceable camera lens body that worked was interesting.  And it does work - it is fun and not for deep analytical talk.  Check the Q forum, they just take images - it is interesting that there are a raft of fellow travellers over there just because they have been cheap recently (me too).  Deep meaningful stuff?  Hang on we are talking about the Q aren't we?

For years I had been looking for an EVIL-type solution to supplement my existing Canon bodies and mount the EOS EF lenses - when the obvious solution arrived it was not from Canon but a complete third party that has worked its way around the Canon lens mount firewall presumably to Canon's great chagrin.  I see that Canon has to do something seriously EVIL now but only if Canon owners give Metabones the market nod.  Right at the moment it seems that most Canon owners with dslr bodies are still more concerned with the historical notion of the dslr whilst Canon quietly introduces live view ovf overlays and flip lcd's to get them used to the idea that the mirror based ovf will one day disappear.  In fact one day one user who always frames on the lcd anyway will casually peer into the optical finder in a distracted moment of interest to find that it is only a dummy.

Anyway it is easy to find distractions that are not Ricoh gear these days be it Sony, Fuji or Pentax, even Olympus, Panasonic and Samsung might get a mention.  But noticeably on this forum neither Canon nor Nikon dslr bodies usually get any airplay.  Leica RF maybe and sometimes Pentax dslr - says a lot.
