Any current SX230 users in here?

In my quest to find a really good smaller (maybe P&S, maybe small MFT kit) camera to accompany my DSLR for an upcoming (mainly) scenic trip, I'm now wondering just how you might feel about the Canon SX230HS filling those shoes.  Atleast I already have it.  I can't say it has seen much general shooting; as I seem to always grab it for grandkid's concerts, and other indoor gigs like that.  How do you feel it might fare shooting the Grand Canyon?  From an IQ standpoint only, would a G-series camera or an SX-Superzoom be significantly better?

I've been moderately pleased with how it's performed for the little that I've used it.  But this trip is BIG.  So I want to get the best shots that I can.
