I shoot with the flash in

manual mode and it never overheat again. I was using my A99 with HVL-F58AM at ISO 800 f3.5 1/125s. The flash was toggled amongst 1/8s, 1/16s and 1/32s. The whole trick is to shoot at higher ISO so that you won't use so much power from the flash.
