Yes! Leave the damn video out, Nikon! Bring us a real photographing tool. Something like a Nikon of old. D800 is A FLAWED camera.

Nikon used to make reliable cameras. But not anymore. Nikon is more and more like Canon. Now look at the D800 and D600 fiasco. And also look at Nikon's attitude. They denied all the QC issues. So it is no hope that things will be better in the future. And yes, again. Canon 5d mk3 is more like a logical upgrade path from THE D700. I'll stick with my D700. D700 IS A GREAT CAMERA. The first affordable Nikon FF camera that performed flawlessly, like a PRO camera. Unfortunately, the new Nikons have severe QC problems: AF, flawed AWB, oil spot on their sensors. And this is not to mention the crippled photographic features as fps, sync speed, etc. Ok, you get instead idiotic gimmicks/gadgets as video, WIFI that will connect you to the "wonderful" facebook world. So sad that most of people do not realise that photography is an escape from the standardization and superficiality Facebook and things like that brought to our lives.

The Best post in months! Pretty summarizes all the important things that were brought to light in this forum.
