Advice on renting a lens ofr wildlife

No, you can't rent 'just anything' - you need to be very careful about the big lenses and international trips.  You have a pretty strict weight and size restrictions these days.

About the last think I would want to hurk around on a general vacation is an expensive exotic.  If it were a primarily photographic trip where you were going to take a ton of equipment and deal with the hassles of doing so, fine.  Otherwise, be reasonable.

Further, those exotics do take a while to get used to.  You need better support gear, bigger boxes, stronger arms.
