Notable: Oly 5050, f1.8 lens.  In its day the best in class.

Oly C8080, again in its day the best in class (better than the Sony R1 I think).

Epson RD-1, 1st digital rangefinder and the beginning of a race to retro.

The Oly E-330---first live view DSLR (infamously the "solution w/o a problem" from DPR's review...).

The original Canon 1DSMK whatever(I can never keep Canon numeration straight)

and their original Rebels---awful name, but great cameras for the price.

Canon 5D---FF at a price that was reachable.

Nikon D700, the beginning of Nikon's new aggressiveness and regaining ground on Canon.

Sony A900---the big surprise, near MF quality, and then A850---first sub $2K FF camera with same sensor as the A900.

Oly/Panny's m4/3 format---now a shot heard 'round the world, followed closely by Sony NEX, first compact APSC.

Pentax 645D--actual digital MF below $10K

Sony RX1, 1st compact FF.
