It's not about saving money

... as much as it is about what one can afford. My Tamron 300mm f2.8 didn't save me from buying a Zuiko 300mm f2.8 because I never will choose to afford such a luxury. End of line.

There are pros and cons of course. I have 3 Tamron SP lenses. All are good, share the same adapters, and cost very little. They are satisfying to use on my DSLR and I will port them over to mirrorless someday most likely. They are 300mm f2.8, 90mm f2.5, and 35-80mm f2.8-3.8.

Using legacy glass is just really different than using digital glass. Each has it's merits, but if I could only chose one and had the budget, I'd get new glass. Since I don't have the money, I find the good alternatives and enjoy them for what they are.

Cheers,

Seth
