P7700, a wonderful street photography camera! (samples)
Jan 28, 2013

I used P7700 exclusively to cover the celebration of the tunisian revolution second anniversary in the streets of Tunis.

It was a nice surprise! P7700 is a pleasure to use. It grabs focus confidently, and quick enough to capture moving subjects.

Dynamic range is great when you stick to low ISO. it's surely improved over P7000 I used, and helps make some extensive post-processing without altering the files. These are from RAW files and I tend to be light-handed on NR, and don't mind a fine grain.

It even manages to provide some subject separation at the long end of the zoom. This is a shot at 150mm f3.5. Detail is gorgeous!

Portraits are possible with P7700 (see original)

One final shot for reference. What I like about P7700 is stealth photography. The small dimensions of the camera doesn't threaten the subject, and enable you to get closer to your subject. And 12MP with such a sharp lens provides enough resolution to make some fair cropping. I won't hesitate anymore to bring only P7700 with me for daytime street photography.

Dull weather, but files are rich with tones and you can give them some pop in post processing.

Photography has to remain a pleasure, keep PP minimal!
