Hi Arie,

the Tamron 28-75 f:2.8 is a very interesting lens, but the range is especially interesting with a FF body. I have a copy that is quite good, maybe nearly as good as the Zeiss 24-70 regarding sharpness. But I recommend that you try your lens on a FF body. I have had copies that had centering issues. This lens is known for that. On an APS-C body like the A77, you may not notice if your copy is affected but once you step up to FF... Different story. With the first copy of the Tamron I bought, nearly 1/4 of the image was totally blurry, unusable with my A850. I sent it back. I hope you have a very good one but, again, if you know someone having an A850, A900 or A99, give your lens a try on a FF body just to be sure.

The Zeiss 16-80 is an interesting walk-around lens for the A77. Not perfect, not fast enough for critical low-light situations, not very well built, but quite good with a great range in a small and lightweight package when you need it.
