Hi Kite,
Thanks for your kind comment. The lens is a standard Celestron-11 astronomical telescope, Schmidt Cassegrain design (front corrector lens plus two mirrors). It's a real beast - 11-inch aperture. Click on my forum name and you'll see a photo of it. Its native focal length is 2800 mm at f/10, but with an f/6.3 focal reducer it produces 1760mm. In that configuration my camera's APS-C sensor covers only 0.51° X 76°. That's barely enough in the short dimension to cover the Moon.
