Ignorance, if you want to pick one. Video has been tacked on to still cameras for quite some time, but it has been seen by the still camera manufacturers as a niche checklist feature with no consideration as to how it's actually used.

Canon and Panasonic seem to be listening to what videographers want and adjusting the hardware and software to accommodate those needs better than any of the other manufacturers at this point. With time and as the market develops, I'm sure the others will follow.

Focus, if you ask me. Fuji does not address the "videographer" needs because they don't focus in that kind of consumer. Fuji just makes really good cameras for photographers and care about pure photographic experience. If you don't have these needs you have plenty of good options elsewhere.

Then why even bother to have put In a video mode in the first place?

It's clearly for casual use, which happens to be my use too, and it takes totally fine videos. Leica doesn't even bother.

Its a damn shame there is no serious western slr/mirrorless competitors out there. Ones that can bring in some new fresh ideas and understand the western market aND actually reply to feedback in non-machine translated English.
