Why choose LX7 over the competitors?

I`m gonna try to be as truthful as possible here.  Lets face it , the other competing cameras in this class are no slouches either and arguably just as good as the others .  And basically they are all just as capable at getting equally good IQ. There isn`t any of us who didn`t compromise one feature for another. None of these cameras have it all.

It`s always a personal preference of whatever one camera has or does whatever the other doesn`t   among the terrific competition in this class of camera  especially when the price is similar.  However , when the LX7 became available for only $299 those of us who might normally give more thought and consideration to something else had the god given sense to recognize the opportunity to seize upon that super deal staring us in the face.

No way was I going to pay $450 for the LX7 when I already had a capable  LX5 .   The Sony RX100 at $650 had changed the way I looked at what small sensored cameras are now worth and I don`t think I`m alone.

Bottom line is I am quite satisfied with my LX7 , but only because I paid only $299.
