I have the 24-105 lens that I use on my 5D2 and it is a great combination for FF. I also have a 550D for general use (walk around). The 24-105 produces excellent image quality but is a bit heavy for that camera and a little to limiting on the wide end for a cropped sensor. I have a 15-85 which has an excellent range and image quality. Also, I find the 18-135 to be a great general purpose lens with surprising image quality for the price.
