With the recent anti-consumer law that prohibits users from unlocking their phones, no-contract phones become even more attractive. Its absurd that even if you intend to stay with your current carrier at home and just need an unlocked phone while you travel abroad (to save on roaming fees), it will be illegal for you to unlock your own phone.
