I appreciate the input. I guess buying the camera is the cheapest part of photography. I will give the 24-105 a nice workout and see what it can do. I imagine in time I will add a longer zoom, and a shorter zoom or prime to go with it. I do like bigger apertures, but money is a concern...can't have everything
