The Sunday BIRD Volume 8, Issue 32 January 27, 2013

This one caught me by surprise and I had to scramble for the camera. Fortunately the 70-300 was already mounted. i was able to snap these two clicks before he/she flew away.

i'm guessing a red-tailed hawk but would like confirmation if possible. i'm in east central Illinois so the red-tailed is common.
