New means factory fresh and untouched, period.

An open item is just that and should be presented and sold as such.  The last thing I want to purchase is an expensive camera with someone's paw prints on it.  Apparently some camera retailers don't consider an open box an open box and feel free to operate in this sleazy manner.  Go down to Costco or Bestbuy and buy a repacked TV with the staples missing and the cardboard ripped for full boat retail and see how you like it.  Where was it, who dropped it and am I a sucker for paying new for used?  Not going to happen.  They are not allowed to do so by company policy, nor should they be.

I buy local, as I trust B&H et al not one bit.
