P&S to D600 - Too much of a leap???

I had a D7000 for about 6 weeks. It must have been a bad copy b/c I couldn't consistently get a very sharp picture. I moved from a 5 year old D80, so it wasn't a matter of not knowing how to use a DSLR. I've had my D600 for 2 weeks and I'm very happy with it. I find the color from the D600 more pleasing than the D7000. Lenses can get expensive, but the 50mm and 35mm primes are quite cheap and useful.
